Santa Cruz Neighbourhood
Santa Cruz is one of the most special and authentic neighborhoods in Seville. Full of charm, color, and life, it's the perfect place to lose yourself wandering around the narrow streets, and you might even stumble across some of the most popular tourist attractions in the city.
Discovering Santa Cruz
The maze of streets that make up the old Jewish quarter of the city was home to numerous religious battles in which many people in the Jewish community were murdered in their homes or banished from the city by the Catholic Monarchs. As you wander around this history-steeped neighborhood, you'll see an authentic side to the city, full of patios and winding streets lined with beautiful buildings.
One of the key elements of the neighborhood is the Plaza del Triunfo, a pleasant area surrounded by the Cathedral and the Giralda, the General Archive of the Indies, and the Alcazar; the most important historical monuments in the heart of the city.
Santa Cruz is one of the best areas in the city to eat in the many typical tapas bars, plus it's a great place to stay as it's so close to the main tourist attractions.
